A report about Communities of Practice from another community

There is an interesting report from IDeA about a Community of Practice "Facilitator's Workshop" carried out by Stephen Dale. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together the facilitators of the communities supported on the IDeA CoP platform. Dave Briggs who facilitates one of the CoPs points out that the idea is very ambitious:

The Facilitators role

In our meeting today, 6/7/07, we have discuss the FACILITATOR's ROLE, here are the main conclusions:

It's time to bring the facilitators in!

I think we are ready now to invite the facilitators in to help lead our community. The facilitators will be really important bridges, even "interpreters", between the international and national context(s). Let's see what bridges we can manage between us.

We also need the facilitators to help in the final steps of designing and organising this space. From what I've read and heard about the facilitators who have been recruited, we have a great repertoire of experience to draw on.
